Laura Shull (b. 1986) is an American oil painter working in Marietta, Georgia. She received her BFA with a specialty in drawing and painting from Kennesaw State University in 2014 and has since then been exhibiting her work locally and in shows around the Southeast.
She is currently working on original oil paintings, creating custom pieces for clients, and selling prints of her work online and in local shops. On most days she can be found working in her studio, meandering around antique stores, or hanging out with her cats in their little farm house.
Laura Shull’s oil paintings feature women unabashedly indulging in moments of delight. She collects and creates her own costumes, dresses models in 18th Century style wigs and accessories, and stages elaborate backdrops in her studio in order to convey a sense of naturalism in her pieces. Inspired by the extravagance of the Rococo period, French pastries, and what it means to be a “lady”, Laura seeks to create evocative images that mix classic art and contemporary culture.
